What is a trackday?

A track day is an organized event in which motorcycle riders are allowed to ride around a racing circuit (track facility).

We rent out local race tracks , where a road legal or track prepared motorcycle can be used without any speed restrictions. We provide advanced coaching to new-to-the-track riders as well as seasoned track riders and licensed racers.

Do I need to have a MC Endorsement or certain skill level to sign up?

You do NOT need a MC Endorsement to ride on the track. As long as you know how to safely ride a motorcycle and are comfortable with all of the controls, you can get signed up for our New to the Track Rider program.

We actually prefer newer riders as it’s much easier to teach good habits and practices rather than to try an unteach years of bad riding habits.

IS THIS a school?

No, we provide a New Rider (new to the track, not new to motorcycle riding) Program within our C Group and we provide coaching in general. However this is structured open lapping and not a dedicated school.

We do NOT offer BRC Endorsement classes. We do offer The Race Academy to those looking to license up and go racing.

Any motorcycle over 300cc’s is welcome. You will need either a 2 piece or full leather suit with the appropriate gloves, boots, helmet, and back protector.

Where are we located?

We are based out of Colorado.

We do events at the following tracks:

Pueblo Motorsports Park, CO | Pikes Peak International Raceway, CO | High Plains Raceway, CO | Heartland Park-Topeka, KS |

Utah Motorsports Campus, UT | Motorsports Park Hastings, NE | Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, OK, | Podium Club at Attesa, AZ

MINORS

Age requirement is 13+.

All minors 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

All minors must sign the Minor Waiver Form during registration and BOTH parents must sign the waiver day of registration.

(If the adult guardian present and attending the event is not the legal parent, then the parent(s)

must download and sign the waivers and email them to us prior to the event.)

We will not allow you to ride on track with out a legal guardians signed and dated waiver form.

NO EXCEPTIONS will be made.

BOTH documents below need to be signed by the Legal Guardian.

1st time track Riders: $99 for the day. Suit rental included* (limited to availability and sizing)

what are the differences between groups?

*We limit the number of riders in each group (dependent on track length) so that there is plenty of track for everyone.

NOVICE GROUP ( C )

- Is for experienced street-oriented riders who have only a small amount of track experience (or no previous track experience)

This group is very structured, it is geared toward those who have little or no experience riding on a track. We divide riders in to small groups (typically 3 to a coach). We try to match you with riders with similar bike displacements. That group and coach is yours for the day. A brief classroom session gets participants acquainted with the track, basic rules, procedures, and track etiquette. At certain events we may have coaches from Yamaha Champions Riding School on hand to help this group in between each session. Our foundation is based on their core curriculum.

We highly suggest purchasing their online ChampU course before attending any trackday.

On the track, your instructors will set the pace, and help you work on techniques throughout the day. Passing in this group is parallel or away from . With each session, the group is guaranteed a steady increase in speed and by the end of the day you’ll feel right at home.

NEW RIDER (D) GROUP

At certain events we may split Novice into 2 run groups: New Rider (D) Group & Novice (C). If we do this, it is because the waitlist for Novice Group is so long, that it justifies adding another group.

When this happens New Rider Group will be for riders that have never done a trackday before and Novice will be for riders that have done a track day already.

Intermediate ( B )

- Is for experienced track riders. This group has riders who have many track days under their belt, who understand the rules, and are comfortable riding at a very quick pace.

This group is a little less supervised and structured than the Novice group. Staff Riders observe riding ability and encourage faster or slower riders to move up or down a group. Plus our staff are there to help any rider that wants it. Passing is allowed parallel with a rider or away from. The structure of this group may change to more closely resemble either the Advanced or Beginner group, depending on the group’s overall riding ability.

Advanced ( A )

- “Is for experienced track riders, and licensed racers.

Staff are only there to coach, to spot unsafe riding maneuvers, and to move riders down that aren’t up to the overall group pace. Passing is allowed anywhere on the track. This group is run much like an open racing practice.

How do I Move up in groups?

At track entry we have a line of green cones. This is the Review Line. When you are ready to bump up a group, simply line up here at the beginning of your session. A Staff Rider we’ll go out with you for a few laps and review your riding ability. This is not to go flat out. We look at your overall ability. Is the pace there? Is it consistent and controlled? Are you predictable? Are your lines good? Are you hitting apexes? Are you rushing corner entry? Do we fully understand track etiquette and the meaning of all flags? Are you passing safely?

The Staff Rider will bring you back in and either tell you, you are good-to-go, and will proceed to registration with you and get you bumped up OR, tell you a couple things to work on first. If it’s the later, go out, work on those items and then give it another go.

TECH

We tech all bikes.

Safety is our #1 priority and if we let you self tech, odds are you will miss some thing. We miss things on our owns bikes all the time. This is a very straight forward process and not overly difficult. Download the Tech Cheat Sheet below and you’ll be good to go.

Do I have to have water and water wetter? Some form of it, yes.

The following are approved coolants allowed at our track days per the tracks:

  • Water wetter,

  • Royal Purple,

  • Liquid Performance,

  • Evans Trackwater,

  • Summit Racing™ Non-Glycol Racing Coolant,

  • MOTUL MoCOOL,

  • (Engine Ice High Performance Coolant is allowed at most tracks, this is the only option if you are worried about freezing temps).

WHY? My Org only makes the fast guys or my Org doesn’t check.

When we rent the track we are on the hook for any and all spills on the track. This also means if you go down and spill coolant, the riders behind that hit that coolant are going down, we ALL now have to wait until it can be cleaned and bikes can be picked up. You may possibly end the day for everyone. All this because you wanted to be lazy and not swap it out. Don’t be that person.

Will there be vendors?

Yes. We typically have a tire vendor out, suit rentals available, suspension services or some type of track side support company out at our events. Food is always available either through the track concessions, or food trucks. We always recommend bring food and plenty of water though.

Make sure you read through the details of each event when signing up.

Demo Bikes

Demo bikes are provided through Imperial Sportbikes at select events. These are NOT rentals. These are Aprilia Demo’s.

If you are seriously interested in buying an Aprilia, then you may sign up with them, at their tents, the morning of the event. The demo is for one session. That’s a (singular) session. This is an amazing opportunity to really ride a bike you may have been eyeballing and thinking about buying. However, keep in mind that it is not an opportunity to go out and ride beyond your limit. It’s a test ride and if you wreck it, well, you are now buying it or at least paying to fix it.
If you are a Novice or new-to-the-track rider, lets maybe forgo this thought till you are fully comfortable riding on track.
